Meet Alister Ethier:

Alister is a dedicated student in an advanced manual therapy program, currently seeking volunteer practice bodies to help develop his hands-on skills and technical understanding of therapeutic principles.

Originally from the small northern community of Cochrane, Ontario, Alister grew up immersed in sports and active living—experiences that sparked his curiosity about the human body and its capacity to heal and perform.

He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor from 2015-2020. In the process, he gained valuable experience working with varsity and community sports teams as a student strength and conditioning coach. During the 2018–2019 season, he also served as a student intern with the Windsor Spitfires, further refining his understanding of athletic performance and rehabilitation.

Beyond sports, Alister has experience working as a student therapist in long-term care, supporting the daily living and mobility of older adults. These diverse experiences deepened his appreciation for how manual therapy can benefit people of all ages and activity levels.

Alister’s approach to therapy challenges the common “no pain, no gain” mindset. He believes in working with the body—finding ease, restoring balance, and supporting the body’s natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Guided by the ever-changing nature of life, Alister continues to “dig on” in developing his skill, deepening his understanding, and cultivating an environment that allows the body’s innate healing capacity to flourish.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”
— Marianne Williamson
