Somatoemotional release also called somatic massage can be used anytime during your session.
We can add in guided imagery, grounding techniques, colours, observations, meditation and diaphragmatic breathing to have you actively participate during the massage session.
The goal is to become more deeply aware of your body’s internal energy and tensions both during the session and daily life.
Massage can sometimes bring up emotions even without the focus of somatic release. If you request somatic massage we will actively speak of the tensions within certain areas.
We can stop anytime along the way and resume the basic treatment.
Somatic meanings can be varied depending on the origin of the therapy. The key is to observe and allow the awareness to guide you with patience and non judgement.
Acupuncture, Polarity therapy and Ayurvedic techniques are blended to consider the energy within; its reflection on how soft tissue and joints are created and how it impacts alignment, actions, injuries, energy of thoughts, emotions, environment and the resulting impact on your physical well being.
We actively discuss this within the session while the massage or still points are taking place.
These sessions are not to replace certified counsel sessions they are more so to slow the self down and actively listen to your mind body connection.
